Swett makes sculptures and drawings that combine mechanical
skeletons of the mid-20th century with organic form. Swett works
with a variety of metals including bronze, lead and cast iron,
and makes large scale ink drawings on paper and vellum. She
constructs and carves her cast work directly in wax, reflecting
her ceramic experience. Her drawings have a strong graphic line
which shows up in the sculpture as well. Swett holds an M.F.A.
from Massachusetts College of Art and teaches sculpture and
3-D design at Montserrat College of Art.
